The night before homecoming, Vista Murrieta and Murrieta Mesa clashed in a thrilling football match that enticed the audience till the end.

To go over the scores, Mesa began with a touchdown in the first half of the game and resulting in a 7-0 score. Afterwards, Vista scored with Robert Coleman’s run which put the the scoreboard to an even 7-7. After the score evened, Mesa was able to score another touchdown that then tipped the scores back in Mesa’s favor with a 14-7. This lead by Mesa was not held for too long as Devion Snead, Vista, successfully ran the ball and was even the score out once again with a 14-14. The rest of the first half was all Vista scoring to put themselves in the lead. Robert Coleman’s pass to Travis Plantier put the score to 20-14 in favor of Vista. This was then followed by another pass by Coleman to Sami Mounga that concluded the score of the first half at 27-14. After rigorous scoring and intense touchdowns, Vista led the lead in the first half of the game.

In the second half, it began with Devion Snead’s run for Vista that set the score at 34-14. Following this, Vista continued to score once again with Khalil Shakir’s run that furthered Vista’s lead at 41-14. Then, once again, Vista scored with the aid of Steven Riddel who ran the ball to bolster Vista lead against Mesa at 48-14. At this point, Vista has a startling lead over Mesa and there is little chance that Mesa will make a comeback. Yet, Mesa does try. Mesa was able to successfully score two field goals that set the final score of the homecoming game at 48-20. Even though Mesa scored the first touchdown, by the end of the first half Mesa was up 27-14 and that score was further cemented by the second half.

It was a gripping game for both Vista and Mesa; both team played incredibly well and gave their all to the spectacle. Regardless of the winner, the game was a joy to witness
