So much wisdom is in the world for you to discover, ponder, and to fill your hearts and minds. Learning from the wise words of those who have gone before you, whether they are American greats like Abraham Lincoln, leaders of your faith, or members of your own family, helps to nourish your spirit and your character. Sage advice—from the practical to the profound—lights our paths and can help us make the hard choices that will invariably come.

I have had the honor and unique opportunity to bring as much of this wisdom as possible to Broncos on a daily basis via the Bronco Network News morning announcements. Here are some of my favorite quotes that pertain to each tenet of our motto of CLASS:

Character: “Be more concerned with your character than your reputation.” –John Wooden

LeadershipLeadership is action, not position.” –Donald McGannon

Attitude“The greatest day in your life and mine is when we take total responsibility for our attitudes. That’s the day we truly grow up.” –John C. Maxwell

Scholarship“We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then, is not an act, but a habit.” –Aristotle

Service: “Love in action is service.” –Mother Teresa

Hopefully, you’ve gained some of your own wisdom while you’ve been here. I hope you’ve also come to understand there is so much more out there to learn and discover. According to Socrates, “True wisdom comes to each of us when we realize how little we understand about life, ourselves, and the world around us.”

As you carry on with your lives, remember and pass on the wisdom you’ve gained, and share it with those around you. Be good to each other Broncos, be OKB, and remember to always do it with C.L.A.S.S., the Bronco Way!
